kudo8,

If I read your post correctly, this is your first time in Europe? If so, my first suggestion would be to have a look at a copy of Europe Through The Back Door, as that will provide lots of valuable information (including Itinerary planning).

You may also want to have a look at either the Rome or Italy Guidebooks to plan your sightseeing. My first impression in reading over your list is that it's quite "ambitious". While it might be possible to keep with that schedule, you won't be able to spend a lot of time at each site, and if there are long queues or other "complications", it will throw out the whole schedule.

One point to note about the Borghese Gallery is that reservations are compulsory! These must be picked up at the gallery about half an hour before your scheduled time. At the gallery, you'll have to check just about anything you're carrying - they're VERY strict!

A "day trip" to Florence is certainly possible, but I'd suggest spending the extra time in Rome as I doubt that your present schedule will allow visits to all the sites you've listed. Rome can be tiring and it's important to allow adequate time to get to & from the various locations.

Regarding your flight to Paris, you might have a look at EasyJet, as they have flights from Rome / CIA to Paris / ORY as low as €54.99. Be sure to read their Terms & Conditions carefully and pack light (Euro airlines typically have very low baggage limits, and those going over the limit will PAY!).

Happy travels!

Here are my comments for each day.

Sunday: Not sure you can do all that in one day. The Forum, Colosseum, and palatine hill, will take up most of your day.

Monday: Bad idea museums are closed. If you are doing this as a day trip, pick a different day and catch an early train.

Tuesday and Wednesday: Sound good.

You might want to consider going to Florence on Wednesday and staying the night in Florence and flying from Florence to Paris.

As Scott said, Monday is the worst day of a the week for a day trip to Florence, because the biggies are closed.

Your wednesday schedule can be done on a Monday. To me it makes the most sense to fly out of Florence on Thursday instead of Rome and spend Wednesday in Florence. That will maximize your time in both Rome and Florence. Make sure you get reservations for Uffizi and Academia.
