6 Days in Menaggio

We will be staying in Menaggio on Lake Como for 6 days this summer. Our plan is to make that our base and do day trips around the area from there. We will have a car but will probably use the ferry a lot to explore the other towns on the lake.
Can anyone recommend some places to go and things to see? We are both foodies so would especially appreciate restaurant recommendations even if we have to drive a ways.
Thank you!

I'd visit the city of Como for the ferry ride more so than the city itself.

Lenno has a good market day (Wednesday?). It's also on the Greenway path, starting just south of Menaggio. A pleasant, fairly easy hike for the most part. There and back a bit less than 20km.

Recommend Villa del Balbianello, Villa Melzi, Villa Monestero, Villa Carlotta.

Best two village stops on the lake, Bellagio and Varenna. If you can manage a steep walk, Castello di Vezio in Varenna. Also the sacred mount in Ossuccio.

For food. Varenna, Il Cavatappi (went twice for a long lunch. Super). Bellagio, San Giacomo.
Lenno, Santo Stefano.

Day trips away from the lake. Lugano is worth a visit, Bellinzona is a fantastic little place.

I stayed in a small apartment close to where old Benito met his fortunate end. I think it was called Il Portico. The guy who owned it worked in Elora, Ontario for a few years.
