My husband and I (mid 60s) are making our first trip to Italy at the end of April 2025. We are doing the 10 day tour Venice, Florence, Rome then planning an additional week after Rome. Looking for ideas and advice for a coastal area to spend the week that would be fairly easy to get to without a car. We want to relax a bit for the last week after the busy pace of the tour and enjoy some time by the ocean just experiencing the local culture and beauty of the coast. We fly home out of Rome. Thank you!
Consider Sorrento.
That tour has a very short time in Rome. I would head to Sorrento for a few days-4 makes the travel time worth it-then return to Rome for remainder and see what you’ve missed
You will need to be in Rome night before departure
What are your dates? Easter is April 20
Italian holidays April 25 and May 1
Sorrento is a great place to stay to see Capri, Amalfi Coast, Pompeii and Naples.
