I have a 6 AM flight out of Naples next July and I'm wondering if I will have a problem getting to the airport at that early hour. My flight goes from Naples to Frankfurt, then on to San Francisco. What time would I have to be at the airport in Naples, and will there be taxis available so early? My other option is to stay out really late and just head to the airport and crash out there for a few hours, but I would have luggage to deal with all night. Any ideas?
NAP is a small airport. I think 1H15M before the flight should be safe for that time of the day. As for the taxis, you might want to have the hotel people to prearrange for you the day before.
Have a good trip!
I live in Naples and advise you arrive at the airport 90 minutes before your flight. While security has never been an issue, they usually only have one or two airline employees handling check-in. I have stood in line to check my bag for 40 minutes and I got there two hours early. The line behind me was MUCH longer.
See if your hotel can book a cab or ground transportation at that very early time. I've stayed up all night for an early flight out of Las Vegas, but Naples is a city you need to be careful in. Vegas never sleeps. Coming back to the States, I really prefer a 10:00 a.m. to noon flight. I realize you're trying to get back to the west coast before bedtime, however. Good luck!
