We are currently in the process of sending a bank transfer to Florence to secure an apartment for seven weeks. Since we have never done this before we hope we are doing the right thing. Anyone have problems with doing this? Jerry and Stelly

I've rented apartments through vrbo. Two of the properties asked for a bank transfer (one in Venice, one in Florence.) I didn't have a problem.

I prefer using Paypal, but you may to convince the consignee to sign up as well if not already. It's much easier to use and I don't have to go to the bank to do it. My bank did not offer any recourse if anything was wrong, such as account number to which you are transferring the funds. Good luck. My transfer went through with no problem, btw.
