I was wondering if anyone currently visiting Italy has noticed if prices have going up in restaurants and hotels to compensate for the weakening euro? When I last checked the euro was at 1.22 which is about .20 less then last year this time.
Do the prices go down here in the yen goes up?
Nothing significant. Prices still the same....high!

Currency changes have almost nothing to do with local pricing. The only impact could be on imported items but local food, hotels, would have no reason to change. It is not like they are getting less money because the Euro is worth less. The ratio of the dollar to the Euro makes no difference to them.
I was in Italy about 3 weeks ago and didn't notice any increased hotel or restaurant prices. The only noticable price increase from last year was train fares.
Yeah, I don't think you would see much change as most businesses are more concerned about local and European Customers as opposed to a handful of Americans. However, when the Dollar fell real far ($1.50 or more) you did see a few very tourist centric businesses like Hotels or tour companies offer discounts to Americans to maintain business. I would assume that these discounts have evaporated.
thank to those that were insightful with your answers. I just wanted to get a pulse on the euro state of affairs since we are going in July for 20 days.
