5 nights in Piedmonte, Italy

We want to enjoy good food and lovely countryside in Piedmonte without spending a fortune at the Michelin starred restaurants. Any highlights? Any wineries or cheese manufacturers open to the public you recommend? Other suggestions? Maybe a cooking class?

There is a wonderful restaurant in the Locanda Martilletti in Cocconato. The fellow who owns the place is a gourmet chef who left the rat race of the big city, and his wife speaks excellent English. In all my years of travelling, I have never had better meals than here! Fantastic place to stay as well, and located in a "real" Italian village. Very few tourists here. Google it to get directions. Piedmont is a beautiful area, have a great time, and enjoy the Asti wines!
