I will be in Amalfi Coast for 5 nights in mid-June. Would you recommend staying 5 nights in Sorrento or split it up and do 3 nights Sorrento, and 2 nights somewhere else (e.g. Positano)?

Personally, given the proximity of the two towns, I wouldn't change hotels. I would settle into one hotel and do day trips to other towns.

Hi Sarah, just returned from Southern Italy and Sicily. We stayed 6 nights in Sorrento and did day trips to Positano, Amalfi, Capri, Vesuvius, and Paestum. It was so nice to come back to the same hotel for an extended period of time and not to pack up all the time. Sorrento has so many nice restaurants and beautiful vistas. Have fun, it is a beautiful place. We took the bus up to Ravello from Amalfi and walked down, it was a spectacular walk. Wendy Vancouver Canada

Sarah, we have always found that to really enjoy a place we need to stay there overnight. We absolutely love Positano -- have stayed there twice for 3 days each time -- and would recommend your spending at least a couple of nights there. It is a beautiful place and a lot of fun.
