We're heading to Sardinia (flying into Olbia) in late June. We definitely want to spend time on some beautiful beaches and see the area. Suggestions for what to do and where to stay? Appreciate any help! Thanks!
Depends on your taste. With five days I would stay on the east side of the island, north and south of Olbia. North and northwest is a beautiful area with islands right off the coast of Palau (La Maddalena is one) and lots of beaches in nooks and crannies of the coast. South of Olbia is the Gulf of Orosei. This is where I opted to go. It was like Yosemite on the Mediterranean. Lots of hiking and gorgeous limestone and boating and beaches. My daughter and I did a full day cruise along the coast of the gulf which started at 10am and stopped at 3 beaches, each for 90 minutes and all different. I chose not to go to the north-of-Olbia area because everything I read described a scene I dont like (lots of flash, wealth, yachts, celebrities). I'm sure its gorgeous, but I am more of a nature lover than a yacht person.
Thank you so much! I appreciate the insight!
