We will be spending 2 days in Florence in late August. Is it worth leaving the sights in the city center in late afternoon to be at San Miniato for the 5:30 Gregorian chants? It sounds wonderful to me but I am wondering if we should stay longer at the museums and town center and go to San Miniato and Piazzale Michelangelo later in the evening.
I have been twice. There is no need to stay for the whole service. San Miniato is a delightful church, and anyway, it's always good to get away from the madding crowd. Unless it is quite hot, walk up the hill to that area.
Thanks! I appreciate the input of someone who as attended. Since you have gone twice, I'll take that as a positive endorsement.
