When I was in Italy in 2007 my hair dryer seemed to be really hot. I used it but it seemed to get overly hot. Is there a certain hairdryer that would not do this? What is the cost of a hairdryer purchased in Rome?

Before buying a hairdryer, check and see if the hotel room comes with one, it's way more common these days than even 5 years ago.

Agreed re: checking with hotels first. Every hotel I was in provided hair dryers, and they all worked pretty well (which was a pleasant surprise)

I found a dual voltage 1875 watt hair dryer (Conair) at Walmart for $9. Thanks for all the help!
