We are spending a week in Paris in Sept and then heading to Rome. We wondered about taking the train. It's goes via Milan and takes about 11 hours but we think it would be a great trip. My friend has said there are often train strikes (especially in Italy) so now we're not sure. Any suggestions?
"we think it will be a great trip"
Just wondering,, why do you think it will be great?
By the time we get to the Paris Airport, get through security and hang around waiting for our flight, then getting from the Rome airport to our hotel, will take up a chunk of our day so we thought relaxing on the train would be good. Also much less risk of arriving without our luggage. We would connect in Milan so would likely see some of the Alps, should be a scenic trip.
