We are going to Italy in June and need information on the best and cheapest way to get there and back. Should we use a travel agency, Expedia/Orbitz or deal with the airlines directly? We will fly out of Seattle and want to land in Milan. We also want to fly out of Rome for the return trip.

Hi Pat, I feel you pain and there are a few more here posting the same. I just called US Airways and they quoted me 300 dollars than their website and I can't get into the website again with my dates?? I am traveling to Italy and Ireland.The flight to Ireland from Milan is 11 EURO and US Air wants to charge me 300 dollars. Just can't figure it out. I have flown into Rome and out of Milan twice and it really makes sense especially if you are renting a car.It saves on time and Petrol. I deal with the airline directly.

Just to let you know on how different the quotes can be as I entered my flight again including flying out of Milan and I got a flight for 200 dollars less. I guess it all depends...but on what??? My flight was with Aer Lingus and so was US Airways. So I guess we need to be very careful with whom we book.
