Hi - planning to fly to Naples then get to Positano somehow - any advice? Also how to get from Positano to Pompei for a day trip. Thanks

Karen - The guys are accurate as far as the most direct way BUT - I would take the hydrofoil from Napoli to either Sorrento or Positano because of the incredible views coming into either place. I actually prefer taking it to Sorrento and then the Sita Bus to Positano, sitting on the right side of the bus. My way will take about 2 hours longer - and worth it - I think!!

Hi Karen,
The simplest way I know of to get you to Positano from Naples would be to take the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento, then a SITA bus to Positano. It will take about 1.5 hours or so. A day trip to Pompeii from Positano will not be easy unless you hire a car and driver for the day.
