4 nights in Tuscany

We need your help!! We are looking to stay at an agriturismo in Tuscany for 4 nights in July for 5 adults and 2 children. Any suggestions? The problem we are running into is that most agriturismos want you to stay for a week. We have tried several. Any suggestions would be helpful. Grazie!

I don't have suggestions for specific agriturismi, since most do prefer a min. Of 1 week. I can only suggest To look into these two websites and search: Agriturismo.net
Agriturismo.it

Virtually ever farm in Tuscany is a Bed and Breakfast, as it's hard to make a living on 20 acres of grapes/olives. 20 miles south of Florence, there are hundreds of such places. For so many people in your party, try Villas.com. I used Hotels.com for regular hotel rooms in the city. But they also have B&B listings. AirBnB.com is another really inexpensive website. We found a 2 bedroom place outside Certaldo for E70 per nightabout as cheap as they come. You can also Google Agriturisimos to get into specialized websites. Tuscany would be best if you had a van to ramble through the countryside in. Driving is not very difficult if you can figure out how to stay out of the center of the cities.

I used this web site and found some that allowed shorter stays in this area. We stayed at Casa Nova and had a 2 bedroom apartment. We stayed 3 nights You could maybe do a 2 bedroom apartment and one double room for your larger group: http://www.greve-in-chianti.com/ Here is the one we stayed at
http://www.greve-in-chianti.com/casanova.htm We enjoyed the Chianti area and found it convenient to get to Florence, Siena, and that area of Tuscany.

We also liked Agrit La Crociana. Stayed there three years ago in May for five nights and enjoyed it so much we added a sixth night. At that time they did not require a week stay. Atmosphere was very laid back-had a pool and laundry facility. The small apt was a real bargain-about 60 euros per night. It is near Montalcino and convenient to explore most Tuscan towns. There are several apts so your group could be accommodated.

Friends and I just returned from Italy and stayed in a wonderful Agriturismo, Podere Marcampo, for 4 nights. This a a beautiful home in the most tranquil setting i have every seen. Claudia and her parents made our stay very comfortable and welcoming. They have several rooms and a couple of apartments (which might work well for your group).

Check out Villa Mazzi. Their website doesn't mention anything about requiring one week stays. We stayed their recently and it is a beautiful agriturismo just below Montepulciano with a lovely hostess. They have various sized apartments. I highly recommend it.

Hi Hannah, I ran into the same problem when looking for an agriturismo for 4 nights for our visit in 2009. We stayed at Agriturismo Marciano in Siena and loved it. Read the reviews on Trip Advisor. It's a fabulous place and we found the rate to be extremely reasonable considering how nice it was. We also opted to eat dinner there every time they offered it & it was an incredible experience. Our only regret is that we didn't stay there longer! Have a great trip.

With 5 adults and 2 children you need to find a place with space for everyone. Agriturismo Marciano is fabulous, as Sheron states, but it will probably not meet your needs. They have 5 double rooms and an apartment that sleeps 3 or 4. You would need at minimum the apartment and 2 rooms, or if the apartment was not available you would need 4 of the guest rooms. It's unlikely that you would find either of those combinations available unless you were booking really far ahead of time. It's possible that with July being peak season many places want weekly rentals, but I'm sure there is something out there that would allow 4 nights. Have you considered looking at vrbo.com or homeaway.com for a villa? That might accommodate your group better.
