Does anyone have a recommendation of a place to stay (hopefully a triple) prefer a B&B in Florence?
What about Lucca? Has anyone stayed there? If so, any recommendations? Thanks
The Balestri Hotel was nice. You can ask for a room with a view and breakfast is included. Front desk was always helpful.
Also, try Gianna's Bed and Breakfast. I made a reservation, but she had to close during the time that I was there due to a family emergency.
Hotel Sempione. Great location by the train station, central to town. Clean and easy on the budget.
Hi Jennifer, I would recommend Hotel Il Bargellino. They do not serve breakfast, but they are perfectly located near the train station and have 10 very nice rooms. There is a refrigerator in each room and a market around the corner.
Yes, I have seen the other posts. I am also looking into Lucca, but have not seen anything on that.
Thanks for the replies.
My Favorite hotel of the 3-week stay in Italy was the one in Florence - Tourist House Ghibert. I have a webpage report with photos on it at http://www.pbase.com/andrys/florence3
In LUCCA, which you also asked about, we stayed at Hotel Ai Cipressi which gets top ratings from visitors online but looks more like a motel. EXcellent though, and I list why in the last image at my Lucca trip report at http://www.pbase.com/andrys/lucca1
but you have to to open the image to see that.
One of the features besides INCREDIBLE personal service with respect to getting around Lucca they also have free wireless in your rooms.
Both hotels are spacious and extremely clean inside. Both are relatively quite inexpensive.
Usually found under B&B's at the traveler-review sites like tripadvisor.com and venere.com
