So if we take a day trip from Rome, where exactly do I book a good tour or how do we get there exactly??? Any good tours in Florence?
I hear this is a great one in Florence http://www.walkaboutpass.com/nqcontent.cfm?a_name=bestoftuscanytour_homepage . Great reviews on TripAdvisor.
Take the AM train from Termini. Change at Naples, arrive at Pompeii at around 11 AM. Very easy to get to. You can either hire a guide outside the Ruins or rent an audio guide.
Hi, In April of 2007 we stayed in Rome for 7 days and booked several day trips. We took a one day trip, booked through Avventure Bellissime, to Positano, Sorrento and Pompeii. It was wonderful - a small 12 passenger mini bus with a guide. Also did a one day to Florence with Viatour. It was a large bus but still a nice way to see all the major sights in Florence quickly. We also booked thru Viatour to see the Vatican and Sistine Chapel. It was worth it - no lines. The rest of Rome we did on our own. Enjoy!
