I don't know whether to be amused or horrified that the author recommends scooter rental as a "best bet" for getting around Rome. Makes me wonder if he's actually been there! 😱

I often wonder about the advice given. I've discovered it is so important to understand the background of the reviewer. A scooter in Rome is not for the casual tourist!

Thanks for posting. The author did make some good suggestions that weren't the usual "must sees".
Your best bet is to take a taxi or rent a scooter. That must be code for "you can choose life or death".

@Kathy: Yes, indeed, one must question Jason Horowitz' scooter suggestion, but I know that he has lived in Rome for some time. I just shook my head. I know that none of my friends in Rome would recommend that a tourist rent a scooter. There are, of course, many companies that offer them, but that doesn't make it a good idea.
