Train from Munich to Venice

My husband and I will be taking the train from Munich Airport to Venice Mestre on 30Sep07. German Rail website shows fare of 85 euros for 2 on a Euro-Sparpreis Italien fare. Is this a fare available to a person in the US?

Rail Europe is $82 for 2, but they also charge $18 to mail tickets. Also can only book from Munich Hbf to Venice Santa Lucia.

Does anyone have experience on either site that would make one a better choice over the other? Or would it be better to purchase once we arrive in Munich. We are not staying in Munich so would be leaving right after arriving.

The Rail Europe fare is from MUNICH HBF to Venice. The bahn.de special fare you quoted is from the AIRPORT to Venice. The Euro-Sparpreis Italien fare from Munich Hbf is €65 for two people.

Yes, you can book on the bahn.de site. All you have to do is register first. And you probably can print your own ticket.

If you wait until you get to Munich, the Sparpreis seats will almost certainly be gone.
