Which is the fastest train to take from Rome to Salerno,one way? I will not be using the train other then for this trip.

date doesn't matter, you're not buying a ticket on the Bahn site
country does not need to be added, just town/city
time, just input 0700 to see schedules for the whole day
note the # of connections required
times given are from the time the train departs station till arrival, add for getting to station, etc

The fastest trains Rome to Salerno are the Eurostar runs with no train changes (2hrs27min). The fare is 33.30Euro. There are other runs with the faster Eurostar-Alta Velocita trains but they go no further than Naples. Overall these runs are 5-10 minutes slower due to the train change.
