buying train tix in advance from US is more expensive....can you wait and just get them there on day of or do they sell out (we are NOT travelling first class...just regular train tix)
Most trains will not be sold out, except for popular trains (going to cities during rush hours and the like) and some night trains. We have travelled extensively in Italy and have never had trouble getting tix there-- usually from the machines. You may want to buy tix a day ahead if there is a need to take a specific train at a specific hr. Even if you were -- in the VERY unlikely event--- closed out of a train, the next one is available. Validate in the small yellow machines near the tracks and enjoy Italy
