3 weeks in June

I will be traveling in Italy for 3 weeks in June. The trip started with my husbands bike group cycling for 5 days near Siena and is now a 3 week trip. Please help with advise on my proposed itinerary:
June 6 arrive in Rome - 1 day in Rome
June 7 arrive near Siena for 5 nights - 10 couples
June 12 arrive in Florence for 2 nights - just 2 of us for the next 10 days
Is it worth it to spend one night in Lucca?
Stop in Via Reggio and Forte di Marni
Then on to Levanto for 2 or 3 nights
Menaggio for 3 or 4 nights - day trip to Lugano?
June 21 Tremezzo for 6 nights - 6 adult children fly in for the week for birthday celebration
Any recommendations appreciated!
Should we skip Rome and go straight to Siena?
We would like to hike in CT is it terribly crowded in June?
Thank you!

You don't get to see much of Rome, been there before? You arrive and see Rome on the same day, then depart on the next to Siena. Remember that 2 nights = 1 full day. You may have overestimated your time in these places.

You can easily day trip Lucca from Florence and then you don't have to pack up and move. That's what I would do. It is about a 45 minute train ride.

I would think on beach town would be enough, Forti di Marni is quite a large beach. Viareggio is nice too.

If you are taking the train to Levanto you can see 5 Terre on the way. Yes, it will be busy as the devil in June.

Have fun.

I have not been to Rome and would probably just do a hop on hop off bus for one day then head to Siena in the morning for 5 days.
Would you then suggest 3 days in Florence and do Lucca as a day trip?
Then 3 days in Levanto to hike in CT?
Then 3 days outside Menaggio to relax before all my kids come for a week in Tremezzo.
Does this sound like a reasonable itinerary.
I don't want to move each night and would prefer a minimum of 3 days in each location.
Any suggestions?

For me that would be an awfully long time in lake towns in a country with so many other fabulous places to see, but if your focus is on rest and scenery rather than historical sights, etc., this may be right for you.

I'd consider Stresa rather than Tremezzo (which I've never seen). I don't think Lake Como has anything like the Borromean Isles.

Instead of day tripping to Lucca from Florence (1 hour 19 minutes each way on the direct train), I'd stop for 2 nights before heading to Levanto, taking a night each from Levanto (2 nights instead of 3) and Menaggio (3 nights instead of 4). It's easy to visit Viareggio from Lucca and you could then enjoy a less rushed stop at Forte dei Marmi on the way to Levanto. With longer stays at the beginning and end of your trip, a few 2-night stays as you transition between the two locations would be less concerning.

Usually I'd say skip Rome, but since you've never been there and it appears you'll be flying home from Milan, exploring Rome would be a good way to keep active and fight jetlag your first day in Italy.
