Venice is one of my favorite cities on the planet and I've wandered around all over it. Of those three and based solely on location, I recommend the second one - in Dorsoduro. It's a really interesting and beautiful neighborhood, near the main university. Here's some great information about that n'hood: Dorsoduro Happy travels.

The first is in Dosoduro also. But you like the second location better?
Do you not like the location of the third one?

Thanks! We like the second one also but for some reason can't get them to respond to any inquiries. Maybe they're on a long vacation!

When are you going to Venice? If it's too far in the future, they might be ignoring requests.

It's true that the first one is in Dorsoduro, but it's the far east edge of Dorsoduro. Not as attractive to me as the second one, which is much more in the center. The third one is in Castello which just isn't as interesting a n'hood to me as Dorsoduro. But, hey, any one of those three still puts you in Venice, and there's nothing wrong with that, is there? Happy travels.

We're going in March. I would still think they'd at least respond!

You'd think, wouldn't you? Well, welcome to Italy. :-) Especially with apartment rentals and small B&Bs, the turn around time for a response can take a good little while. They indeed might be traveling.

All three apartments look great. I would like to get a plug in for the Castello area one though. It is actually very close to one we are staying in next month and I choose the area because it has such a non-touristy, neighborhood feel. We have stayed close by there before and loved shopping for food in the small, specialty stores and just walking around, not being surrounded by other tourists. S. Marie Formosa Square is lovely with good restaurants close by. I have never stayed in Dorsodoro so I don't know how it compares but did want to say that Castello is a very good option to explore.

I stayed in Venice this past summer with 5 people and we stayed in a hotel. Several hotels have apartments that they rent. They are a good value, you have the amenities of the hotel (cleaning, etc) and the reliability of communication. I looked at the apartments but decided to go this route instead.
