We have had the best experience when we choose 3 towns, 4 days each. We have been to Rome, Siena, and Florence. A day trip to 3 wineries in Tuscany. Can you please recommend 3 towns that are a must to see and be at? Please keep in mind that we don’t want to travel from the top to the tip.
Thank you for your time!!
Dianne
Bologna, Padua, Verona
Lots of day trip possibilities from all
If you haven’t been to Venice
Venice, Bologna, Verona
What time of year? In summer, I might include one of the lakes.
Try Southern Italy - Puglia. Choose Locorotondo (near the Trulli houses - a must), Lecce - amazing city , and Matera - my vote for the most unique city in Italy.
Bologna was good, but not a tier one place to visit in my opinion.
Consider Lucca, near Pisa. Also, Orvieto or Perugia. The Amalfi Coast was great, stay in Sorrento.
We would be going in April.
April is perfect for Amalfi Coast.
Sorrento/Amalfi Coast, Lucca, Mantova or Soave or Vicenza.
Milan, Varenna (Lake Como), Venice.
There are so many choices... Are you fine with renting a car? Do you have any special interests (hiking, art, certain historical periods, etc.)?
A few thoughts:
- Venice, Verona, Bologna
- Turin, Alba, Milan
- Naples, Amalfi Coast
- Matera, Martina Franca or Locorotondo or Cisternino, Lecce
Trani, Bari, Matera.
Oh my gosh!! Writing everything down and tallying everything up. The suggestions are simply the best!
