We have 3 nights to split between Venice and Verona. Venice has the Redeemer Festival July 16 - 17th, has anyone gone? Is it great? Fireworks are on Saturday night and a regatta on Sunday afternoon. Would also like to see the opera in Verona which is also July 16 - 17th. Adult traveling with 17 year old, any thoughts/suggestions would be much appreciated!!

The performance of Aida on Sunday 17th starts at 9pm (and will finish about 1230am). So you can leave Venice in the afternoon and still catch the opera in Verona.

Haven't been to the Venice festival yet, but Turandot in Verona was a phenomenal experience. If you and/or your 17 yr old love
history/opera/pinch-me moments, sitting on (hard) Roman stonework with thousands, watching a spectacle - go.

Regatta? Been there for Redentore a few times and have never seen a Regatta. I asked a local shopkeeper who responded: they sometimes forget to do it. LOL
Enjoy the amazing fireworks and walk across the bridge.
Opera in Verona? As an opera singer myself I can't think of a more exciting way to experience opera!
