3 days in Sorrento, pls help with itinerary

Hi, We will be in Sorrento for 3 full days this June 24th. Time is going by so fast that I had only planned on our first leg of the trip- Rome and haven't plan on Sorrento yet.It will be our first time in Sorrento and will be staying close to Corso Italia. I would appreciate any help in planning our itinerary. Thanks so much.

You can always go to Pompeii, half hour by train from Sorrento. We were there this time last year and it was VERY hot, take water and wear a hat and good shoes. Also can take a bus trip for the day town the Amalfi Coast, stop in Positano and or Ravella (spelling?). Enjoy.

We really enjoyed a boat ride to Positano from Sorrento. Positano was OK for a few hours, but our impression was all boutiques, jewelry shops, and the like. Our impression, I think , is in a minority but we left, had the nice boat back to Sorrento, and spent the rest of the day at Herculaneum. Pompeii is on my life list of amazing places...we spent nearly 8 hours. Sorrento itself is lovely, and affords you the opportunity of just strolling, sipping, eating, and doing it all over again.

Hi Sally I would recommend a boat trip to Capri and going to Anacapri, taking a bus to Amalfi and hiking around, and taking train to Pompeii. And Sorrento is a great spot to get to them all from, and a wondeful place to walk around in the evenings and enjoy. Have a great trip Mike

Sally, All the suggestions above are great, but if you want a little more adventure try renting a zodiac and tour the coast on your own. We rented one in the harbor at Conca Verde. We took it from there around to Positano. We also ventured to Capri and had time to circle the island were we found some quiet coves to swim in. Weather obviously plays into this, but our kids have never forgotten it.

The most fun I had in Sorrento (and a great way to beat the heat, at least temporarily) was to rent a moped to drive down the coast toward Positano and Amalfi. The road is busy, and there was a little risk involved, but if/when I return, I will most definitely do it again! Dave
