7th - depends on what you like
8th - start in Pisa, then Lucca
9th - I'm guessing you're shlepping to the airport because city locations are closed on Sat.
12th - pain in the neck to return at the airport, then have to get back to the city for the train.

I'd switch things around so I could rent and return the car in a city location. But I'm also guessing that it's too late to change all your lodging reservations.

12pm: Lunch at Castello Di Verranzzno

You're in for a treat! I'm guessing you're doing the lunch that includes the tour of the winery. If not, make sure you do the tour.

We spent a week at Castillo di Verrazzano in December 2015. We were the only guests for the week and were treated like royalty. Check on that day to see if there is a festival in Greve. You could spend a little time there before heading to Siena.

On the 10th, consider leaving a little early to San Gimignano, then heading over to Volterra. The sunset at Volterra is spectacular, I'd stick around for that, maybe even eating there instead of heading to Siena.

Keep your day trip flexible. You may find Florence so enchanting you want to stay. Pisa will only take a couple of hours, plan to spend most of your time in Lucca if you do the day trip.

Thanks Chani! Yes its abit too late to change my lodging reservations.

DougMac: Yes lunch with tour of the winery!

I would be seeing the Uffizi on the morning of 7th Sept from 8:15-11:15 with a guided tour and i am hoping to do the Duomo in the afternoon. Would this be a good idea or would it be too tiring?

On the 8th Sept - i am considering just leaving the day open to either Pitti Palace and the boboli gardens or head to see Pisa/Lucca. Do i need to pre-book anything if i want to do either?

Thanks!
