It sounds like you already have your flights booked out of Naples?

If that is not the case, I would recommend just staying in Rome. You are only there for 1.5 days and there is so much more to see. You could also do a day trip during that time.

If you have already booked out of Naples, then I would still stay another night in Rome, with suggestions from others on your Sorrento/Pompeii plans.

Thanks Pam! Yes, we already have flights booked departing Naples so thought it would be best to base out of Sorrento, but again... open to suggestions!

If you have an early flight, I would suggest you spend the last day/night in Naples, the airport is very nearby, but coming in from Sorrento will take about two hours to get to the airport, about a half hour less if you hire a taxi or private car. You can use the time in Naples for the archeological museum and some other sights.

Two days in Sorrento or on the Amalfi Coast is better than no days.

From Rome, you can take the fast train to Napoli Centrale, go to the Circumvesuviana ticket window and buy your ticket to Sorrento, go downstairs (make sure you take the correct staircase for the Sorrento train). Rome to Naples is 1.25 hours, Naples to Sorrento is a little over an hour. If you are staying in Sorrento, you just need to get to your hotel. If you are continuing to the Amalfi Coast, outside the train station are buses that leave about every half hour. Sorrento to Amalfi (last stop) takes about an hour, less if you are staying in Positano, for example.

Since you have a flight around noon, I would stay in Sorrento your last evening. Take the
