Hi. I am taking my family of 6 to Venice in June, and we are thinking of booking the 3-bdrm apartment at Pensione Guerrato. Can anyone share their experience with this apartment? Also, is street noise an issue? With kids, late night noise is not ideal. Thanks.
Hello,
We stayed at this pension / hotel last May. We had 3 double rooms for 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay. There are some stairs to climb and there is no elevator so take this into consideration. It is centrally located near a public transportation stop near the market. We did not notice any problems with outside noise. There is a square behind the hotel that people in the nearby bars spill out onto in the evening, but not loud enough where it will effect you in the hotel. Hope this helps.
Our family of 4 stayed at Pensione Guerrato in July 2005. It was in a great location near the Rialto mkt. We had one of their top floor rooms which was very big with a nice bathroom. It was quiet but we could hear them setting up for the market but didn't bother us at all. Are their apartments located in the same bldg. as the pensione? I thought they were located closer to St. Mark's. Will be anxious to hear if anyone has stayed in one of their apts. as we may be returning to Venice this summer and will be looking for accommodations--possibly for 5-6 people.
Hotel Campiello has 3 apartments located near their hotel which is just a few minutes from St. Mark's right off the Riva. We stayed in the apt. Bucintoro in August 2007 and it was very nice--new in 2007. The Bucintoro was a one bedroom apt. with a sofa that pulled out into a bed for 2. Best of all there were no steps! I think they also have an apt. that would accommodate more people.
