Hello. Previously visited and saw all the main sights. Anyone familiar with Testaccio? We only have a day. Any highlights of Trastevere? Any other areas worth exploring?
Thank you!
You say you have seen all the main sights.... That can mean a lot of different things. Do you like museums and galleries? Are you into churches? Prefer shopping? Have you done all of the walks in the Rick Steves Rome Guide?
Or maybe look at Walks of Italy for their tours to make the most of your time. Something like Hidden Gems of Rome or a food tour.
My next trip to Rome will definitely include a day exploring the Appian Way and Aqueduct Park - hopefully via bicycles.
Nero's Domus Aurea is fabulous. Appia Antica walking along or biking - I also recommend. Interesting sites just about every where.
Testacciois not too touristy and has several great sites including the Protestant cemetary, Badilica Santa Sabina and a great farmers market. Also there are many good restaurants and an Eataly.
