I am having difficulty finding a way from Venice to Croatia. I need to travel on April 5 or 6 and the ferrys I have found don't go until April 11. Any suggestions?

Depending on your destination in Croatia you may need to train to Ancona, a city with more ferry options to Croatia.

You can also go by bus from Trieste which is a short train ride from Venice. A couple of possibile destinations are Pula: http://www.croatiatraveller.com/Istria/PulaBuses.htm

We are going from Venice to Zagreb in late April by train.
Not sure of the exact route as we have been advised to wait to book our tickets until day or two before our trip (given frequent train strikes in Italy). Much less expensive than the ferry.
