28 Hours in Naples (November)

My flight to Naples lands at 12pm on Saturday and Departs the next Day at 4pm. From reading about it, i dont want to spend too much time in Naples, except to eat some good food I have some crazy itenrary options, would be great to get your views, and suggestions!! Option 1) > Head to Capri (Reach by about 2-3 pm) Try to see the Blue Grotto, Definitely do the Chair lift to Monte Solaro. Spend the night at Capri/ Ana Capri Head out by the first ferry to Naples Spend the day in Naples Archaelogical Museum Naples Underground Flight back Option 2) > Head to Capri (Reach by about 2-3 pm) Try to see the Blue Grotto, Definitely do the Chair lift to Monte Solaro. Spend the night at Capri/ Ana Capri Head out by the first ferry to Sorrento Take a Bus from Sorrento to Posetano to see the Amalfi Coast Travel from there back to Naples (maybe via Sorrento again if thats best) Afternoon in Naples with some lunch Flight Back Option 3) > Head to Pompeii (Reach by 2 pm) 3 hours in Pompeii If possible, include Vesuvius Night in Sorrento
Amalfi Coast Bus to Posetano and then Naples Frankly, the idea of Capri really excites me, and i want to just see the amalfi coast a bit if possible. Would spending a few hours in the morning at Sorrento suffice? (modification to Option 2) Am i really missing out a lot without Pompeii?

Update Have decided on the following, maybe a bit saner. would love to get your opinion on travelling options, and any suggestions on places to eat/ visit. Head to Capri (Reach by about 2-3 pm) Try to see the Blue Grotto, Definitely do the Chair lift to Monte Solaro. Spend the night at Capri/ Ana Capri Head out by the first ferry to Sorrento Spend a few hours in Sorrento / rent a scooter to look around Travel back to Naples Afternoon in Naples with some lunch I have heard the weather can get a bit rough and ferries might get cancelled. is that common? or just one of those nce in a blue moon issues?

You are being optimistic about reaching Capri in 2-3 hours after arriving in Naples. Where are you coming from? Will you have to go through Immigration? Will you have luggage? Have you checked ferry times? In November the sea can definitely be rough and ferries cancelled. The chances of getting to the Blue Grotto in November are probably not in your favour - you sail to the grotto and then transfer to a small boat to shoot through the entrance to the cave - slightest bit of a swell and its a no go. re missing Pompeii. Depends on what your interests are. Personally I would rather go to Pompeii (or Herculaneum) than to Capri. What do you mean when you say include Vesuvius. You can see the mountain from Naples, Sorrento and probably Capri but it takes a number of hours to get to the top and back down again. Rick Steves dropped it from some of his tours because it made for too long a day with Pompeii. I would suggest you go straight to Sorrento, spend the night there and then see what the weather is like for a very quick trip to Capri and ferry from there to Naples. If weather bad
go to Pompeii instead. Positano is just too far south to do in the time you have.
