Hello everyone, I planned and booked our Rome activities keeping in mind that the Colosseum was open on Sundays, unlike most of our other activities, so left that day for the sites in and around the Colosseum. I just realized that that Sunday we planned on going is the first Sunday of the month, meaning it is the free entry day. Unfortunately, that also means we can't book a timeslot and would have to wait in line to get tickets. I am all for the free aspect, but based on what I've read about the long wait times, I think its worth the 18 euro to pay and avoid a 1-2hr long wait.
My main question is, if we advance book the 24hr ticket to see the colosseum, forum and palatine hill, and enter late the day before could we use the tickets the next day within the 24 hr period for entrance - even though it is a free Sunday - without having to wait to get the free ones?
I don't mind going to the colosseum later on Saturday with the paid tickets as we can see get onto the arena floor etc, but we won't be able to do the rest of the sites and possibly not even spend as much time in the colosseum as we would like to the day before. So if we could go late Saturday and then again early on the free Sunday that would be ideal - but I'm not sure if that will be allowed.
