24 hours in Milan- cab vs public transport

5 family members Flying into Malpensa airport (MXP) in Milan, staying for 24 hours and flying to Germany, likely from Orio al Serio (BGY). Any thoughts about cab versus public transportation? Thanks

As far as getting into Milan from Malpensa, there is both a bus to the Centrale train station and a train to the Cortona train station. Both connect to the city's subway system.

I think you would have a hard time fitting five people into a single cab so you'd likely have to arrange for a shuttle or take two cabs. Public transport would be easier.

Don't know about your other airport.

The taxi fare from Malpensa to the City Center will run approx 90 Euro. The bus is very inexpensive (around 5 Euro) and goes to Milan Central station. The express train goes to Milan Cadorna station and is a little more expensive than the bus, but still very reasonable. Where is your hotel located? Once you get into Milan, you will likely need to walk, switch to the subway, or take a taxi to your hotel. I've taken both the bus and the train and prefer the train, but both are easy ways of getting into the city.

Hello John. Ride in a train from the Malpensa airport to Milan. In Milan, ride in Taxi cabs only, because you will be there for a short time. Milan is a stressful and crowded and unfriendly big city. The underground trains in Milan are extremely crowded and stressful and filthy.
