International Cell Phone

I am borrowing an international cell phone from my work to use while in Italy. It will not be on all the time...only when I need to check for voice mail and to check in with home. Can I charge the phone in my hotel room with the aide of a plug converter?

Anything that can be plugged into a wall here can be plugged into a wall there (with the right converter).
