2026 Winter Olympics in Milan

What to see in Lake Como and Milan in winter weather? Traveling from Seattle, WA.

Assuming you already have tickets to events? The snow sports are in a different location, Cortina d'Ampezzo, which is quite far away. The closing ceremony is in Verona, also not nearby. So I suppose you mentioned Lake Como for a reason not related to the Olympics.

That being said, winter olympics are a blast and you don't really need event tickets to have a wonderful time. The energy is fabulous. I also live in Seattle and went up to Vancouver when they hosted the Olympics and wow the city was fun. I didn't get up to Whistler for the snow events. I also went to SLC when they hosted, and again had a blast just soaking up the atmosphere in the streets.

Ok, now that you know you will enjoy the scene even without event tickets, then it's just like doing anything in wet winter weather, like you are used to in Seattle. And you can look up basic Milan info, such as the Cathedral and the Last Supper, and get tickets ahead of time. And your hotel costs will be higher due to the crowds. And it will all be wonderful!
