I just saw a brief report, without much detail, about upcoming 2026 restoration work in the Vatican Museums. Does anyone have any better information, perhaps with links to news reports?
We are planning to visit in the fall of 2026.
Thanks in advance.

I don't see this as any reason to change your plans as there will be plenty of the Sistine still on view, & the 4 Raphael Rooms - including one recently restored (see below) - will be fully open. Note that the current Raphael restoration work referenced in the article linked above is of a corridor (loggia) which I don't believe is/has been open to the general public anyway.
