Hi There~
I'm meeting my husband in Barcelona at the end of August, as he is doing a cycling stint in Spain. We were thinking we'd fly from Barcelona to Sardinia, rent a car, and then? We may have two bikes with us, or we may leave his bike in Barcelona...forgive me, I'm at the beginning stages of working this out. We do not want to stay in high rises, or over populated places/beaches. We would love to do a fair amount of beach time exploration, in quaint, quieter areas. And...we are somewhat budget minded. We'd love to be in several places for a few days at time instead of a new place every night. Do any of you well traveled folks that have explored Sardinia have suggestions? :)
Here's a link to a posting on this forum that you might find interesting. Sardinia. Prices and crowds tend to drop in September. The Costa Smeralda in the northeast part of the island can be very expensive. Beaches in the southeast are beautiful and prices should be more affordable. I also took the ferry over to Corsica and if you have the time, it's a great visit. PM me if you want any more info or have questions.
