2 nights in Cinque Terre - which town in best for short stay

We are traveling via train from Milan to Florence in October have two nights available to stay in Cinque Terre. We will arrive until mid to late afternoon the first day, have a full day, and then depart the following morning. What are some opinions on the optimum (I won't say best) town for this short stay. We have it narrowed down to Vernazza and Manarola.

Thanks for the guidance.

I don't think it matters much--they are minutes apart by train, plus you can set off on a hiking path from any of them, so it really just comes down to finding accommodations you like. You might choose based on restaurants if you just want to do nothing but walk five minutes to dinner but otherwise, I think any village is fine!

@valadelphia pretty much nailed it. Vernazza is a very popular place to stay. Manarola a little less so , but either would be great. October may present some issues with the hiking trails, but only if the weather is not good.
The trains are frequent and inexpensive, so getting from any of the towns-with the exception of Corniglia as it sits way uphill from the train station- to the other is very easy.
