2 Hours in Positano

Hello All,
My husband and I will be in Positano for 2 hours on a cruise. Thus far, we are planning to walk around the town and also visit the Church of Santa Maria Assunta. If anyone has any suggestions on what to see, the best place to eat, and shopping I would greatly appreciate your help!
Thank you!

Just walk the streets. There are plenty of shops and places to eat up and down the beautiful streets.

I would not enter any international clothing or accessory boutique that you can shop in any major city of the world. Is that two hours net of boat tender time?

Allison, lunch, a look at the church and a short stroll is probably all you'll be able to accomplish in 2 hours. I wouldn't count on much time, if any, left for shopping. This is especially true if your ship is docking in Positano as, to echo Tim's point, it's a tendered port. Or is this an escorted bus tour from the port in Naples?

The traffic is bad enough that you won't want to bus/taxi anywhere and be subject to the whims of the traffic preventing you from returning.

My wife and I took a bus to Monterpurtuso (sp?) and walked down. That took way to long for you.
However, it was good to get an idea of "life on a hillside"

There is a Youtube channel Nikki Positano

She has done good intro videos to topics and you may get a feel for the town.

You could take a lovely walk along Via Positanesi d?America near the ferry boat stalls to Fornillo Beach. There are great views on the walk and Spiaggia Bar Ristorante La Marinella is a quiet spot for food. The church smelled very musty inside and we did not stay there very long, not as beautiful as other churches we have seen. From the church you could walk up Via del Mulini and then up the steps by the Deli to Via Cristoforo Colombo which has gorgeous views from high up. If you just stay by Spiaggia Grande Beach and people watch you could eat at La Pergola and get gelato there as you wait to return to your boat. Another street with views back on Positano is Viale Pasitea. Since time will be limited you may only have time for a short walk and lunch. Pick up a map of Positano if you can.
