2 hour layover in Rome

I was planning on flying from Naples to Rome to Heathrow with a 2 hr layover in Rome. Is 2 hours long enough to get off the Naples plane , then find and board a plane for Heathrow? It seems a tight timeline to me.
We are staying in London for a few days.

Rome's airport is not that big. You should be more than fine. Most of us have far tighter connections in much bigger airports with no trouble. You will even have time for coffee and a nice large snack.

I saw your title and was worried you were going to ask about leaving the airport! That would not work. But finding your flight? Should be no problem.

One booking or two separate tickets?

Checked bags?

It's a two hours train ride, from central Naples to FCO. The same time you are supposed to waste running around at Rome airport.

If you are flying on two separate tickets I wouldn't run the risk. In the future those going to the UK may face new time-consuming procedures because of Covid variants and the Great Sausage War.

Seems like train from Naples to Rome would be easier, you control your arrival time to FCO

what time is your FCO to Heathrow flight?

It is 2:15 from Rome to Heathrow… thanks for the train suggestion, I’m going to research it.

With 1 ticket, the airline will be responsible for getting you to London if your incoming flight is delayed. I’d risk it, but others may prefer to avoid the stress of rushing to their next flight. I hate sitting around in airports so I don’t mind short connections. Is it the last flight to London that day? You might see if your airline has later flights to London that day.

Do you need to fly into Heathrow? Other airports like Gatwick can be just as convenient. It all depends on where in London you are staying.

I would suggest searching on sites like skyscanner for nonstops from Naples to London. I find Easyjet to be a good budget airline. Read all their rules and what they charge extra for.

Edit to add: Book direct with the airline unless there’s a compelling reason not to. Use other sites like skyscanner just to find appropriate flights.

Rocket has a great idea, fly direct to London.

A quick look at a random date in July shows 4 direct flights from Naples to London.

Stansted, ( ryanair) // Gatwick( easyjet) // or Heathrow (BA)

Just agreeing that the way to go is a nonstop flight from Naples to London. The flight with a connection in Rome would have to be a LOT cheaper for me to consider it.

However, two hours for a connection in Rome is plenty of time, if you do decide to follow your original plan.
