Hello again, I am sorry for not explaining myself well. We are going on a cruise to Greece with a lot of ladies from different part of the world. I currently live in Orange County, California. After my cruise we are going to Turkey and from there I am taking a flight to Milan because my return to Los Angeles is from there. I only have 2 days in Milan from Thursday September 14 and 15 (full days) my flight from Turkey arrives to Milan late at night Wednesday the 13th. I just want to stay in a safe place not to far from everything. I arrive the main airport Malpensa. I speak English, Spanish and Italian.

As this is your first solo trip, you might find it really helpful to have a look at the Rick Steves Italy guidebook, and also Europe Through The Back Door if this is your first trip. You haven't provided any other information about your trip, but I assume you'll be travelling by train?
There are some good hotels within about a five minute walk from the main rail station in Milan, including Hotel Garda and Hotel Berna. You didn't specify what you consider "inexpensive". Both of those hotels are reasonably priced.

Are you flying into MXP airport? Or LINate? Are you arriving by high speed train?
Since you are travelling by yourself I'd stay in the Navigli area. It's nice, close to the Milano Cadorna railway&metro station and there are people around till past midnight.
The business district around Milano Centrale station turns into a lonely place after 8 pm.
