2 days in an Agriturismo.. Perhaps San Gimignano?

Hello!
I 've read many posts and perhaps my question might seem redundant... But I'm going to ask anyway!
I'm a solo traveler and have 5 days to spend in Italy late April before heading out for work related travel to another part of Europe. I was thinking of the following itinerary:
-Day 1 & 2 in Rome
-Day 3 & 4 in Tuscany. Looking for an Agriturismo type of a accommodation. I've been reading about the villages in Tuscany and seem to like San Gimignano. But need advice here. My preferences are to experience the Tuscan life... and just to relax and unwind for a couple of days. I won't be renting a car (hence San G.. Because of the bus/taxi service). I'm open to renting a Vespa or a scooter locally.
Any other village recommendations?
-Day 5 Florence and then fly out the next day

Your advice is appreciated!!

Thanks.

I highly recommend San Gimignano! I went last summer for the day and it was amazing. You really get to experience what small village Tuscan life is like. There's a great gelato place in the town square "Gelateria Dondoli" where they have the Gelato Master World Champion meet you before you walk in. It really is one of the best gelatos I've had and I've had a lot!

Typically the Agriturismos are in the countryside, so a car would be necessary. There are lots of lovely hotels in San G. and I think you could be happy there for a few days without a car. There is bus service there, but no train.

It's a great place to wander around and relax.

We've stayed outside San Gimignano in an agriturismo. Virtually every farm in the area is very small in size, and they all have apartments and rooms for a secondary source of income. Unfortunately, many are slightly off the beaten path and a rental car is needed.
I would suggest you stay in Florence and take bus day trips and tours into the hill towns. And it would be best to stay away from rental scooters.

We stayed at Agriturismo outside of Orvieto. It was part of our RS Best of Italy Tour. If you just want to relax, an Agriturismo is a great idea, but if you want to see things, I would recommend you stay in town. Since you are only in Italy for a short time, I think you would enjoy staying in San Gimignano more especially since you don't have a car. San Gimignano is a small town and I think you could still relax and stay in the town.

My wife and I just returned from San Gimignano and had lunch at Sovestro in Poggio, a winery/agroturismo within walking distance from town. It's a long walk, but definitely walkable. For 38 Euros a person they provide a tour of the winery and lunch. It was a nice visit, a good lunch, and great wine.

We did not stay at the bed and breakfast, but it looked pretty cool. A family on our wine tour was staying there and they really liked it
