2 day hike in the Dolomites?

Hello-
A friend asked me about a good two day hike. She'll be at a regatta on Lake Garda and will have a couple days to see the Dolomites. I was just there (and LOVED it), but we based in a town and only did day hikes. Can anyone recommend a good two day hike? Is Val Gardena a good place to base a 2 day hike?

We do not do multi-day hikes but I have two ideas.

  1. Have her read this book Walking in the Dolomites for longer itineraries
  2. Consider the Alpe di Siusi where there are some great long hikes. She could stay in a rifugio up there or in one of the hotels in the meadow which is a nice "remote" experience without having to hike with all of one's belongings.
