Apartments in Venice are much less expensive than hotels and much better suited to a family of four. That apartment looks very nice, but the 80€ is probably low season price and actual price for your stay may well be higher. I doubt it is next to a prison. There are lots of options for finding an apartment in Venice. Try the usual suspects like VRBO and Airbnb, and also the agencies like TrulyVenice, Venice Red House, Views on Venice, etc.

Try views on Venice. We just booked with them for April. Apartments look amazing if a little pricey. I found their staff friendly and easy to work with.
