2 1/2 hours at Milan train station

We have a 2 1/2 hour lay over in the Milan train station between trains 10:30 -13:00. Any suggestions of must do's or a good restaurant in the vicinity?? Thank you!

Do you have luggage? You might have to store it at the luggage depot.
Time is limited. You might have time for a very quick run to the Duomo (by metro) and next door galleria for a quick look and for a sandwich to go before heading back to the station.

Head for the Duomo and a sandwich. There is a donner kebab shop out the front left side. With your back to the tracks, head to the front and do not cross the main road. Turn left and cross the road beside the train station. It is in the bottom of the apartment building about half way down.

Enjoy.

It has been a couple of years but seem to remember a decent grocery store (small) in the station for snacks, picnic lunch, and we bought a decent bottle of wine for the run to Venice. There are a number of restaurants around the plaza facing the station and a short walk down some side street. We like a little place along the trolley line to the north of the station. IMO going to the Duomo is not recommendation. You could easily spend several hours in that area so an hour's peak is hardly worth it.
