1st trip to Italy- weekend in Tuscany

Hello! I will be traveling to Italy next week, flying in and out of Milan, renting a car and spending the work week Sun - Friday in Como. My flight home leaves Milan at 1:30pm on Monday, so I will have the last weekend from Friday afternoon to Monday morning to explore other places. I'm not super big into art, so while I know I would appreciate seeing some of the masterpieces, it's not a must see for me on this trip. Instead, I'm thinking of something more relaxed like going to the thermal springs in Saturnia (Cascate del Mulino), staying at a B&B or agriturismo in Tuscany.

My question is what else to do while in the area, and where should I base out of? I'm sure that I can spend a wonderful day in and around Saturnia, likely on Saturday, but where should I stay on Friday and Sunday nights, and what to do on Sunday (besides head north in preparation of my flight home on Monday)? This decision will likely be determined by which driving route I take, either along the coast through Pisa (E80?) or through Florence (E35). Google tells me that both routes from Como to Saturnia are about 6 hrs. Seems wise to not try to make it all the way to the Saturnia area on Friday after dark.

During the week I will be exploring the area in and around Como (including Milan and maybe even Venice), so I am more interested in heading South for the weekend. Any advice is much appreciated! Thanks!

Saturnia is wonderful, but a long ways from Lake Como and Milan. I would stay more north, maybe Parma area. If you really want hot springs, why not Montecantini, west of Florence? There are also thermal springs near Verona and Padua. There is so much to see and do in the northern area without including 8+ hours of just driving in your weekend.

Why not base yourself in Orvieto from there you can visit the thermal springs in Saturnia (Cascate del Mulino. It's just a 1 hour 18 minutes drive there from Orvieto. You can also visit Civita di Bagnoregio 1 hour's drive and Grosseto. Another option is to stay in those agriturismos from the links below in Saturnia and drive to explore the country side to Orvieto and Civita di Bagnoregio.
