Europe by train

I have about 10 days holiday(end July 2008) to tour Europe by train. Not sure which is the best way of accomplishing this? I have looked into taking passes, but I am still unclear. I have specific interest to visit Eastern Europe. Any advice well be greatly appreciated.

I would fly into wherever you want to start and do point to point tickets.

It's probably best to start with asking -- what is it exactly that you want to do? Where specifically do you want to go? Read the RS book or go to the Eastern Europe page on this website for more info if you still need some.

Otherwise, jump on ryanair Liverpool to Budapest and live one day at a time!

Thank Betty

like your idea and this is exactly what I wish to do. Any reason you have suggested to start in Budapest?

Thanks again

Do you realize you posted this in the Italy section? You might have better luck posting this in the "To The East" section, instead of "To the Boot".
