19 nights CT-Tuscany-Umbria-Emilia-Romagna

Hello! Would love input on my itinerary. I plan to use public transportation except maybe get a rental car in Tuscany or join tour groups/hire a guide. I've visited Rome, Florence and Venice.

Fly into MXP in the morning
Milan: 1 night
CT: 3 nights
Siena: 5 nights Agriturismo near Siena and visit surrounding villages
Perugia: 4 nights, visit nearby cities like Assisi
Arezza: 2 nights
Bologna: 4 nights, visit Parma, Ravenna, Padua and etc
Fly out or BLQ.

I LOVE food - should I take out Arezzo and add 2 nights to Bologna or another base in Emilia-Romagna?

Arezzo is a very interesting city with food that is different from the specialties of your other destinations. Leave it in. Suggest you also stop in Ferrara for wonderful history and food.

Another vote for Ferrara and Arezzo. A few years ago, my friends and I watched a Nonna making tortellini at one of the restaurants on the main piazza.

I enjoyed a day trip to Arezzo on which I was lucky to hit a big monthly antique market. If you have any interest in that, Google for info.

Yes, visit Arezzo- it was one of my favorites and is an easy train ride from Florence, and probably other locations using public transport. The frescoes in the cathedral are gorgeous, and the off-kilter square and winding streets are fun to wander around. Have a wonderful time!
