we are planning 18 days trip in Italy from middle of June. Rome in from home and Verona out back to home . Here are the places we are going to: Rome, Florence, Venice, Amalfi, Naples. What's the best route? is it better to go to Naples first then Amalfi and back to Rome, Florence and Vernice, Verona or start from Rome? we won't rent a car.
Fly into Venice (less stressful entry into Italy) and out of Naples.
Venice > Florence > Rome > Salerno > Amalfi (via ferry) Amalfi > Naples by ferry.
Straight line itinerary
Easier to fly IN to Venice than out of Venice
If you can’t fly out of Naples
Venice
Verona
Florence
Amalfi via Salerno
Naples
Rome
We are doing the route gerri suggests. We have Italo and Trenitalia tickets booked. As well, we have Travelmar and NLG ferries booked. You may be interested in noting Festa San Giovanni in Florence is June 24 and Festa San Pietro in Rome is June 29.
